Biography

Didier Monteiro is the Executive Secretary of the BioGuinea Foundation, Guinea-Bissau’s national conservation trust fund. He brings 15 years of experience in sustainable development and project management, with Civil Society Organisation, Development Agencies and International Institutions,  including eight years with UNICEF as Water and Sanitation Program Specialist. With a background in Business and Finance, he has led strategic initiatives to strengthen natural resource governance, mobilize innovative financing, and build resilient institutions in West Africa.
At the Foundation, Didier provides strategic leadership to staff and governance bodies, drives fundraising and endowment growth, and forges alliances with governments, donors, and civil society. Passionate about aligning conservation with community well-being, he contributes to regional and international platforms on conservation finance, governance, and institutional sustainability.
