Bridging Continents for Conservation: BRIDGE Oversight Committee Meets in Paris

Summary

Together, we’re building stronger, smarter, and more sustainable financing mechanisms to protect biodiversity across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

From 16-18 June, Paris—the iconic City of Lights—hosted a pivotal gathering of minds committed to advancing conservation finance. The BRIDGE Project Oversight Committee convened for its 4th in-person session, driving forward global efforts to unlock private sector finance for nature.

The BRIDGE Project is a 4-year joint initiative of CAFÉ and RedLAC (Latin American and Caribbean Network of Environmental Funds). Coordinated by Forever Costa Rica Association, the project aims to strengthen the capacity of Conservation Trust Funds (CTFs) across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean to effectively engage with the private sector in support of conservation finance.

Representing CAFÉ at the meeting were:

Dr. Théophile Zognou, CAFÉ President and Executive Director of Fondation pour le Tri-national de la Sangha – FTNS

Dr. Fanny N’golo, CAFÉ Executive Committee Member and Executive Director of the Foundation for Parks and Reserves of Ivory Coast

Mr. Guillaume de Rouville, CAFÉ Executive Committee Member and Executive Director of the Okapi Fund for Nature Conservation in the DRC

Together, we’re building stronger, smarter, and more sustainable financing mechanisms to protect biodiversity across Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
